Key Ingredients
Rosehip seed oil: Full of omega-6, vitamin E and carotenoids, rosehip oil is especially renowned for its action against skin aging and its healing effects. Helps to moisturize, regenerate and tone the skin.
Grapeseed Oil: Known for its anti-inflammatory properties but this oil's strength lies in its molecular structure. The Polyphenol compounds in grapeseed oil, such as proanthocyanidins, are especially powerful antioxidants. The proanthocyanidins found within are possibly 20 times greater than that of vitamin E and 50 times greater than that of vitamin C
Borage seed oil: Containing the highest level of linolenic acid in a plant, borage oil is especially beneficial as an anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidant. Linolenic acid, which is an omega-6 fatty acid, helps promote a healthy skin barrier by replenishing the lipids in the outermost layer of the epidermis, thus increasing hydration of the skin.
Camellia japonica(tsubaki) Oil: Intensely moisturizing oil that contains high levels of Omega 9 fatty acids. Oleic acid(omega 9) helps maintain and replenish the skin’s barrier function and prevent water loss, also protecting it from UV and environmental damage.
Sea buckthorn: high in Vitamin C(10X more than an orange). This amazing berry contains 190 bioactive compounds, one of which is palmitooleic acid (omega-7) which is a component of skin lipids and is responsible for stimulating the regenerative process in the epidermis. Due to the high levels of linoleic acid, it helps regulate and and retain moisture levels in the skin. Also helps to improve overall skintone.
Helichrysum(Immortelle): Excellent cell-stimulator, cell-regenerator, scar healer and skin protector. It defends the skin against damage from free radicals while minimizing wrinkles and fading scars.
Copaiba- From the Tisserand Institute...."Did you know that copaiba essential oil can make your skin happy? Containing large amounts of beta-caryophyllene, a molecule that interacts with cannabinoid receptors in your skin, it causes skin cells to produce beta-endorphin, one of the happiness hormones." In skincare it reduces the appearance of blemishes and promotes the appearance of a youthful, radiant glow
Use:
Gently massage into face, neck and chest morning and evening after cleansing, being mindful not to get in the eye area. Essential Face Oil-Summer Days is also excellent to use wth a massage tool such as a gua sha, kansa wand, or jade roller.
*Please be mindful of clothing when 1st applying, as the natural color of rosehip seed oil and sea buckthorn can stain.
*A completely natural product is subject to small variatons of color within each batch. Just as in nature, not every harvest yields the exact same botanical every time. Sea Buckthorn is a lovely bright orange but you will sometimes see a difference in intensity of color from batch to batch. This can in turn affect the color of Roots Botanica products. Rest assured you are still getting the same great product every time!
